Welcome to the WUMC Family Ministry Blog

Welcome to the new WUMC Family Ministry web page/blog. The Family Ministry is a group of families with generally younger kids (elementary age and younger) who get together about once a month for some sort of fellowship and social activity with the kids. Some of our past events have included free family movie nights, a Fall Harvest Festival, Gingerbread decorating parties. We also try to get the Mom’s and Dad’s together for some adult fellowship as well. During the school year we have a Sunday School class that can but does not always pertain to parenting issues.

My hope is that you will be able to stop by here any time and get an up-to-date look at what we will be doing and what we have been doing with the Family Ministry. And hopefully you will like something that you see so that you will be willing to stop by one of our events and check us out!! We would love to have you!!!

If you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know. I am ALWAYS looking for ideas to make things better, fresher and more exciting. Just tell me your idea.

Favorite Place to take the Kids

We all have wonderful ideas of what to do with the kids on a Saturday afternoon so now is your chance to share your ideas with everyone else! Please leave a comment telling us all where you like to take you kids. Make sure you remember the details of where it is, how much it costs, how much time it takes to get there and how much time we can expect to spend there. I know I am always looking for new ideas. I'm sure others are as well.

One of our favorite places to take the kids is Chick-fil-a on Tuesday evenings when Monte is there. It is a really easy outing - dinner is already done!
Great fellowship! Good food! Awesome music for both the kids and the adults! And the kids are constantly entertained!
What more could you ask for?

Sunday Concerts in the Park - Every Sunday in JULY, they start around 645pm.

Bring a blanket, chairs, toys - sit near the back so the kids can play and not disturb anyone..

They have the list of bands on the website www.westgov.com under "recs and parks" then "whats new and happening" then "July Concert series"

Also the August outdoor Movies in the Park -- Free Outdoor Movies In Westminster City Park at 9:00 PM

Bear Branch and Piney Run Park are always fun outings. I generally pack a lunch and water bottles and depending on the heat - we can spend hours there...
